awesome….awesome. Looking forward to the rest of the plaidcasts on this topic. Computer was chugging a little bit on the file, but it was worth it for the quality picture.
At first I was a little hesitant but I’m glad I watched the clip. I’ve been keepn up with the news but never thought of anything you said. pretty cool and lookin forward to the next. o yeah, clip’s graphics were awesome.
Great post. Can’t wait for part 2! I like the high def as well, I always thought those were sunglasses you were wearing. Where can I get a mask like that?
i think a NATO invasion of russia is quite impossible, however the threat of western economic and political influence in the former republic is very real. These latest russian steps will send a message no doubt to ukraine. Nonetheless, i fail to identify why moscow would rather show military might and aggression, rather than diplomacy and economic leverage in the region. It seems that the recent action is further isolating Russia from its important partners in the West, that have recently put faith and investments in the country. Is this really the most effective way to achieve their goals???
A1, I think the Russians didn’t always treat their SSRs with the greatest respect. I’m not quite an expert in USSR history, but if you look at Chechnya, they have proven to be a real threat to Russia–they held an entire elementary school hostage and killed hundreds of people there in 2001, in fact. That might explain why Russia is wary of allowing its former Republics to stray too far from Mother Russia. Also, I believe that Russia has done far more than just invade Georgia recently–while I was in Moscow in 2007, I read in an English/Russian paper that Russia was waging a cyberwar on Estonia. They are upset that all the territory that they are seeing as “theirs” is running away and getting REAL protection from another source.

Note–Chechnya wasn’t an SSR, but they have been under Russian rule previously. It got ugly.
